hello,

I have hatching fever.
I just hatched a chic and she was adopted by one of our hens. But I do want to have Indian runners for a while, and I bought some eggs

I know that the incubation time is 28 days, but how high does the humidity has to be? And at lockdown? And what does a duckling eat? And what else is different between ducklings and chicks? Are there specific things I have to know?

Thank you!!!

55% humidity and 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit. 55% humidity is ideal

During lockdown the humidity should be 70% - 80%. 75% is ideal

Ducklings can be feed chick starter

And the main difference is that ducklings don’t need near as much heat as chicks do after they hatch. Ducklings can go fine without heat too but it’s best to have a brooder for the first few days after they hatch. Also ducklings like swimming and they will begin swimming a day after they hatch.
