help needed male or female, new to this

I do not see any pictures, so maybe try adding them again? I think that you may need to have ten posts before you get the ability to add pictures.

However, the breeder is wrong in saying that there isn't a good way to tell if you have a pullet or cockerel before they crow or lay an egg. In most cases, a rooster will get a larger, redder comb by the time it is eight weeks old. At the same age, a pullet's comb is usually almost non existent and a pale color. Roosters get pointy hackle (neck) feathers and saddle feathers (the longer pointy feathers near the tail--hens don't get them) by the time they are four months old or so. A hen has blunt hackle feathers, not pointy. Also, a rooster gets sickle feathers (the long feathers on the tail). These take a longer time to grow in, but you should start seeing these by the time they are five months old or so.

Edit: While I was typing, you must have added the pictures. I see them now. Your Sussex and Buff Rock are both roosters, but your Hamburg is a hen.
Yup, I agree. The Sussex and Rock are both cockerels and the Hamburg is a pullet.

thanx guys, i knew id get my answer on here. i have spoke to the breeder and hes going to swap the 2 for pullets.

Another question maybe a daft one, if the hen ok she hasnt started to lay yet but being around 2 cocks is will she produce normal eggs?

Thanx again

1) That person is full of crap.
2)Whenever she begins laying, if you still have the boys, most likely they will be fertilized, but I'm not really sure what you mean by "normal"
And unless he has a pretty big mixed flock or pays absolutely no attention to the chicks, he should have a much closer range of age than somewhere within 2minths. That's a pretty large margin there!

That right there is why he said there isn't a way to tell if its a hen or roo until it doesn't lay anything.

A hen doesn't need a cock to produce eggs. Now, if you want fertilized eggs, then, yes, you will need a cock. Unless something is wrong with a/your hen, she will produce 'normal' eggs. : )
