My husband was given a present of 3 ducks today that were shot yesterday. They are in a cool place waiting for me to do something with them - I won't be able to tackle them until tomorrow. I have never done anything like this before so need a bit of help from all you experts please!

My main question is: As they were shot yesterday and are still entirely whole ie not been bled etc, will they still be ok? Also, do i have to scald and pluck or would it be better to skin them. Can I use all the meat or does it make a difference that they haven't been bled out?

Any help would be appreciated. Step by step instructions would be even better for this total newbie!

Thank so much.

Seriously, I'd say split the breast skin and run your fingers all around under the skin, then remove the breast meat. At least that's what Opa told me, so far!
