Help needed with eye infection! Hope the pic works

Here's the deal:
Husband's co-worker's wife rescued this hen from a neighbor.
Hen has horrible eye situation.

Took it to the vet yesterday and they gave me a ten day supply of Baytril and some pain killer for the bird as well.

Will the Baytril be strong enough to clear up that eye infection?

No sign of wheezing or sniffling. I have her far, far away from my own flock and she will go on to the safe hands of a chicken sanctary on Saturday.

I think that the eye probably will have to be cleaned, drained or something. I am putting some Terramycin Eye Ointment on the eye.

Any suggestions, help will be most appreciated!!

Oh my! That is truly a terrible eye infection. Yay for you for taking her in and giving her the attention she needs. I would not be surprised if she loses that eye. I hope not. It sounds like you have done everything that can be done. I too think it looks like it needs draining and antibiotic eye ointment. Other than that, Baytril is a wonderful antibiotic and should work wonders to keep the infection out of her entire system. Good luck with her and keep us posted on her progress as she heals.

Hopefully the Terramycin eye ointment and Baytril should do the trick. Also try warm water eye washes. Good luck.

1) What type of bird , age and weight.
I guess she is about a year old
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She is eating, drinking and her poop looks normal. She is a very mellow bird and likes people, will eat out of your hand.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
About a week
4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
NO
5) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
Previous owner says eye was pecked. Rescue person put hydrogen peroxide on eye, I came into picture on Saturday, told rescue person to STOP the peroxide and put on the terramycian eye ointment and take bird to vet.
6) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Eating and drinking, likes human foods, strawberries, lasagna, bread, lettuce and fresh water.
7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Poop looks normal.
8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
Terramycian eye ointment, Vet gave Baytril, 10 day supply. We are only one day 2 of Baytril.
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
Bird has gone to vet, bird will go to Chicken Sanctuary on Saturday.
10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

11) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Hen is in a cat carrier. I am at home all day and check her often. She comes out and pecks around and goes back into carrier.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I have been pretty stressed about this poor girl.
I will make sure to give updates. I would love to keep her, she is very sweet. I assume that she was hand raised and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She'll eat right out of your hands. She is going to a chicken sanctuary on Saturday. The owners will take top-notch care of her. I wish I could keep her, but I got a coop full right now. All my hens are spoiled, spoiled, spoiled and most were rescued from tough situations.
