help needed

Not sure but it didn't appear that way. When they get shrink wrapped, you can't really see the membrane like that, as it becomes one with the chick, literally stuck to them.

It's just a sign, and a good one, to tell us to wait a bit, there's more in there. :)
I will remember that, thanks! I had to assist a few chicks with my last 2 hatches and it's so hard to figure out when to help and when to wait. I waited too long on one and its feet were deformed when it got out. So now I err on the side of caution and assist if it's peeping that loud distressed peep sound.

No problem! I'm always hatching so love to share what I do or have learned along the way.

I just hate to see you help too soon and have a mess on your hands if she's got yolk left. A couple of hours will tell you more.

Curled toes or splayed legs are sometimes what I've gotten when I DID assist, so I try not to. That's just me and my experience though. At least those are easily fixed.
