HELP! Neighbors dog killed 36 of my daughters chickens....

Darn, dogs!
Secure your coop and the run.
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you find eggs. You could post a WTB ad in the BSA section of the forum.

thanks everyone....for all your support...completely forgot about TSC....duh.....its spring....as far as the dog...he had it put to sleep....and he is helping some with payment for the birds....he doesnt have much though.....

Well, that is something. Sorry for the dog, more the fault of the owner for letting it run loose, but once a dog gets a taste for killing-it will almost always do it again. So sorry for your daughter. Secure your coop and run and maybe range them with 'guarded' supervision. I will have some that need rehoming, but forgot to look at where you are. I take some of the injured, weak or ones with birth defects from the feedstore and try to rehab them, then rehome. I try to only keep the ones that continue to need special care.

Hi Lyz,

So sorry to hear about you birds. We have lost 20 of our birds to our neighbor's dogs since November, but he has not done much except reinforce his fence. We have a 5 y/o daughter who was very attached to the birds, so we can really sympathize.

Wow, that's horrible. So sorry for your loss.

We have Black Stars, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Golden Comets and Production Reds. We have a Red Star Rooster. I'm just straight below you in WV - If you would like some eggs still I can send some. (free of course. I have an 11 year old son who dearly loves his animals, I understand!) I don't know too much about hatching eggs, but if you tell me what to do after I collect them I'd be glad to send her a dozen. There are usually bullseyes on the yolk, so they are fertile. Just let me know! Maybe she could get at least some to hatch?
