Welcome Kay! Good observation, does your husband go out often around the ducks? If not the duckling maybe wary of him. They get so set in their ways early since being prey they never know who might want to eat them. And it could be weather to is-it pretty hot still by you? Pekins are noted for getting over heated and panting is how they cool off just like other animals that don’t have sweat glands. That’s good the duckling has perked up hopefully what ever it was is over. Please do give us a run down on what you feed, how they are kept. Pics would be good and of course we’d love to see your babies.
