Me and my husband have 18 guinnea eggs in the bator. We candle lighted them last night , they are only a week in, and only seen a yolk. Is this normal? When will I see development. We are keeping the eggs at a steady 99.5 degrees. We flip twice a day and they are on a little movement thing. Am I doing something wrong? any advice is much appreciated. This is my first try.

I looked at some images of candled guinea eggs on google, and you should be seeing some veining at a week in. If you don't have a strong flash light, that would explain why you're seeing nothing. Apparently they're very hard to see into (I don't raise guineas). Keep in mind they take somewhere around 26-28 days to hatch, as opposed to 21 for chicken eggs. I'd give them a little more time and then candle again. If you type "candling guinea eggs" into google, there are lots of helpful images with day by day pics. Good luck!
