Ok people I need help we had 7 babies born yesterday put them in the brooder heat lamp food and water. Check on them every couple hours and yesterday evening lost all 7 total devastation to my 2 year who they belong too. Don't understand what happened just don't understand any help would be appreciated tried to research it but couldn't find anything. Just need help to understand what we are doing wrong. They were so full of life then gone. Not sure I understand. Thank you for your help.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! So sorry about the loss of your chicks. :hugs Where did you get the chicks from? Did they show any symptoms at all before you lost them, what did they look like when you found them? Can you post pictures of your brooder set up? That might help figuring out what is going on. Do you have warm and cool spots in the brooder (the whole brooder should not be 95*) and is there plenty of ventilation? What sort of light bulb are you using?

So sorry for you losses!

X2 on what @Kelsie2290 asked. Very good questions.

They were hatched here at our home by our momma hen. We removed them because of our roosters. We use a red light and we use a huge like tub for the baby chicks. They were all on their backs when we found them except for one was on its belly head down. We are totally dumb founded but never have had baby bantim chicks before so this one is new to us. Any ideas or suggestions would be great we have other chicks that are fine regular size anyways but these little tiny guys seem to be a different ballgame.

No mamma isnt in there but I'm thinking of moving her with baby maybe that ugly help I'm just lost

Not sure what you are saying, were there other chicks in the brooder with the bantams, and those chicks are fine? You are sure the bantam chicks hatched the day you put them in the brooder, and they were eating/drinking etc normally? Have you used a thermometer to check the temps in the brooder?

So very sorry for your loss. Bantams usually need a bit more heat than large fowl. Did you ever see them actually eat and drink water? Were they pooping? Did you have a top on the brooder?

I wonder if they were too hot or lacking sufficient ventilation and suffocated. Did pets or kids have access to them? Were they with older chicks? Did they have any wounds?
