For the longest time I was unable to find anyone in my area who were selling button quail. I would check Craigslist once in a while, but it was mostly people selling pairs at outrageous prices. I needed a couple of young hens for my lonely boy, Biscuit, to choose from.
Last month I stumbled upon an ad posted by a couple of bird enthusiasts who lived about a half-hour's drive from me. Buttons for $3/ea! I scheduled a pickup date and wound up buying 5 quail, 2 mature hens and three chicks. I was thrilled. Biscuit hasn't crowed from loneliness ever since.
