Please can someone help with symptom diagnosis. I can't find anything. We had a baby chick lay over late yesterday and then lost the ability to walk. It just pushed itself backwards with its feet. It made it through the night but we put her down this morning because it was heartbreaking to see her suffering. She couldn't eat or we feel some water with a bit of electrolytes. It was like her brain was fried... and it was warm yesterday so we moved them into an air conditioned room and set temp to 80-85. They are about 3 weeks old. We just checked on them and another one is doing the same thing... acting like she is drunk. Hubby is in with her now trying to give her some liquids. She also feels quite warm although the room is very comfortable. There are 8 other chicks and I am scared to death. If it was the feed wouldn't they all be sick? This is fresh feed I just picked up last week. Please, if anyone has any ideas please respond!!!

Is there an area where they can get away from the heat? It's possible to overheat them if they can't get away from it. Any discharge from the eyes or nose?

Yes, they can get away from heat and there is no discharge. Eyes start to close and they just fall forward and then can't walk... almost like muscular dystrophy. They are are on pine bedded which I changed out this morning when we moved them inside. The sick ones so far are French Black Copper Marans and they came from a certified disease free hatchery.
