HELP! Omlet automatic coop door problem

Try opening up the control panel and make sure the little wire plug is plugged in all the way. Also, make sure the wires are not touching any screws or metal in there. That's what we did when we got the "wire fault" and it solved it!

I purchased the automatic door from omlet and attached to my existing wooden coop. I've had it for about a year now. I get the occasional "wiring fault" error but it is rare and I have figured out how to fix that little "bug" in the system.
About 3 days ago my auto door stopped closing at night. It is set on a timer. The error said "door fault". So I had to close manually, however the door will just continue to open and close over and over again until I hit the button a second time to make it stop in the closed position.
I was able to close it manually a couple nights and it would reopen on its own in the morning. But today I had to open it manually as well.
I did a factory reset, made no difference. My next step is to disconnect the wire and re connect, but aside from that, I'm clueless. Has anyone had this issue? Is my door just busted permanently?
I did test the crash bar by blocking the entryway with an object, and the sensor successfully detected the object and reopened. But it will just keep opening and closing by itself.

Hello! I have just started to have the identical problem with my omlete door, after I changed the batteries for the first time. I wonder if you got a solution?

I purchased mine about a year ago. Today the door didn’t open and I got the door fault message. I opened the door manually, but it was slipping and didn’t open all the way.
the motor is working, so I assumed the problem is with the door itself. I made sure all the debris was out of the tracts. In the center of the door, there is a cog rail which moves the door. Mine was very loose. I tightened all the screws back and front, made sure nothing was trapped in any of the mechanisms and put the door back up. It opened manually, so I will check it when it is due to close to make sure it is working, but I think the loose track was the problem. Hope this helps.

I ordered 2 auto doors from Omlet and one had a faulty control panel right off the bat…and they told me they are “remedying my query by sending a new control panel because it sounds to them and after my description that is the control panel issue as evident by the video and photos presented” to Omlet via email. To top it off… now ….a week later ..with all the firmware updates and 100% WiFi connection…all of a sudden… the OTHER door is screwing up. I was so happy when I thought it was working perfectly but is now constantly opening and closing but not all the way - over 10 minutes I recorded of this calibration step and had to finally remove the batteries at 10:30 at night! I can’t believe I paid all this $$ for a subpar product that I truly was hoping and needed to make my life a little easier and to ensure the safety of my hens - that they would be let in and out of their coop by the set time on the program and on the control panel. Every morning and evening - after paying all this $$ - im still forced to go out and make sure the door is open and it is not or it’s a crack opened and my girls are freaking out trapped inside until I come out …it’s never open to the programmed time and it never shuts all the way and this is WITHOUT anything obstructing its closure or blocked by anything. It’d brand new and nothing could or would block it expect a chicken and that is not the case ever. I’ve tried it on direct plug in and now on batteries and always ON A TIMER with the correct current time set, of course. The thing is not opening or closing. I’d love it if it really was dependable and actually did what it said it would do. It’s just not reliable and and makes me sick that I paid so much for a piece of plastic. Nothing blocking the door or sensor …everything programmed correctly and wires are secure and delicately installed. Went out on a limb and got these two doors and regret is now in my mind now.

Remarking this old thread because I encountered the “wiring fault” code randomly on my door when having no other problems before and door would not close. Upon further inspection of door my “wiring fault” was actually two loose retention screws that secure the motor unit to the mount of the door and it was slipping the gear drive. Tightened them back up and door worked great with no faults. Pretty easy to get to. Have to remove the door from the mechanism then open the compartment for the motor above the gear drive and the 2 screws are located on the bottom side of the motor. Not sure if this is everyone’s problem with this code but it’s definitely one of them.

I just had this happen to me! Depending on the door style there are 2 little square insets with screws in them, make sure those screws are tightened. Mine must have worked loose after assembly. Once I tightened them back up, the omlet door works as it should!
