HELP! One chick with a dry partially open eye...how do I help it?

1 of my 2 day old coturnix quail chicks now has a partially open dry eye. I tried wetting it with a bit of water but it didn't help. Is there an ointment I could put over it to help rewet it but not dry it out? Anything I can do to help him...he is one of my favorites

I had this happen too and I used a little eye cream that I had left over from one of the kids. It was just a polysporin brand I think, for eyes instead of for cuts. Worth a try.

I had a duck hatch with crusty eyes. I use saline solution and dabbed it on with a q-tip. Took a couple of days to start to clear up, but after a week it was fine.

The Old remedy for kittens is a warm tea bag. It works on chicks too.
