My Buff Orpingon hen went broody about 5 weeks ago. We do not have a rooster in our flock, so I purchased 6 fertile eggs and placed them under her June 25 (this is my first time letting a hen incubate her own eggs). Now, there is only one egg remaining (the other hens from the flock have cracked the other 5 eggs, so I separated my broody and the last egg to a secluded area/nesting box). Today is day 21 exactly (for the incubation of the egg), but I am worried because the egg has been pretty jostled these past few days (due to me moving egg and mom to a new location). Will this affect the chick inside?! I've read many places that the egg should not be moved or touched during the last few days of incubation, but I didn't have any choice.
I candled the egg a few days ago, and I am almost completely positive that there is a healthy chick growing inside.
I would really appreciate any advice or tips! Thanks.

If the chick was developing and healthy- moving it shouldn't have compomised it. (if it was done gently.) Just remember that 21 days is a guidline. It could be delayed. You would just be starting day 21 today, so there's still hope. I wouldn't get too worried until day 22 is over.
