That seems so harsh though, plus I don't know if they will let me get close enough to them to hold them down like that. They approach me, but only because they think I have treats. Once they realize I have no treats they move on

well then hand feed them i had feed mine sometimes and they will perch on my lap

You have beautiful birds. I prefer not to hand feed them because they get too excited to where it hurts.
