Our duckling is about a month old now. The brooder is a rabbit hutch. Earlier this evening, the hutch lid slammed shut on the heating lamp and destroyed the bulb. I don't have anything else I can use right now. It's about 70 degrees in the room. Will the duckie be okay without a heating lamp until I can get one tomorrow AM?

when my ducks were 3 weeks old they lived in a coop outside when it was about 70 degrees everyday and about 65 at night. they didn't have a mother duck or a heat lamp keeping them warm, but they were totally fine. i wouldn't worry, the baby will probably be fine

It will probably be ok. If it is acting sick you can wrap it up in a towel with a heating pad. I sometimes throw a towel in the dryer, take it out quickly and wrap it around the chick. They love the instant heat!
