HELP! Out of chicken food;anything around the house they could eat?

Just don't leave the styrofoam plate in there with them, they will eat that too !!!

We keep our 13 birds locked in their coop til at least 830 am just to MAKE THEM eat their feed! Running out has never happened here. They go to bed at night with their crops loaded with forage from the yard.

I wish you had a nice big space for them to dig around in. Pen a chicken in a 4X4 square of lawn and watch for 10 minutes, keep a stopwatch, count how many mysterious goodies they find and eat, its

amazing. Even tips off every blade of grass. Wee little toads, moths (yes, there are moths down there!) and spiders, ants, seeds............wormies of all sorts........
