Help please? I have raised peafowl for many years but something is very wrong this season-

1. I incubate hatch and keep humidity at 60%.
2. My hatch rate has been poor.
3, Those that hatched survived about 3 days and become lethargic and die.
4. They are kept in house with heat lamp.
5. I feed non-medicated starter feed and ground up in a blender.
6. I have about 12 eggs in incubator now and will re-candle soon.
7. I have never experienced total loss like this and have found it has been not that difficult to get them to self sufficiency outside in past.
8. My two adult pairs are healthy and my original pair are good producers and second pair are a new obtained pair and all are in a flight together.

I have researched care for peafowl and have not find anything I am not doing correctly. It is a puzzle but they are born healthy and survive a few days and slowly go down and begin to lay down and then die-all before 7 days of age.

Thank you in advance.

I agree with KsKingBee. A heat lamp for pea chicks has to be placed low enough for them to avoid any chilling whatsoever, and they are more susceptible to chill than other young poultry. I had to lower my lamp for my new hatchlings yesterday as I had had it placed for young chickens. A thermometer placed below the lamp can let you know if you have the right ground-level temperature.

could be retained yolk sacs.
FWIW you don't need to feed the chicks until they are 3 days old, they're living off their yolk sacs until then and need to be able to utilize them.
Offer water but they prob. won't drink until day 2 or 3.
Do check your temp. too though, good suggestion.
95 degrees for the first week then drop it 5 degrees every week there after. Put your heat lamp on one end so if they get too hot they can get out from under it.
