Help please? I have raised peafowl for many years but something is very wrong this season-
1. I incubate hatch and keep humidity at 60%.
2. My hatch rate has been poor.
3, Those that hatched survived about 3 days and become lethargic and die.
4. They are kept in house with heat lamp.
5. I feed non-medicated starter feed and ground up in a blender.
6. I have about 12 eggs in incubator now and will re-candle soon.
7. I have never experienced total loss like this and have found it has been not that difficult to get them to self sufficiency outside in past.
8. My two adult pairs are healthy and my original pair are good producers and second pair are a new obtained pair and all are in a flight together.
I have researched care for peafowl and have not find anything I am not doing correctly. It is a puzzle but they are born healthy and survive a few days and slowly go down and begin to lay down and then die-all before 7 days of age.
Thank you in advance.
