so I am shipping the chicks that are starting to hatch today. If peachicks take 28-30 days to hatch... and are only ok 3 days for shipping. How long should I give the rest of the chicks to hatch or not hatch before I ship the chicks??? I have the first chick pipped this morning and I know some will prob not hatch.

How long Do I give it before I box and ship the chicks... what about late hatchers??? Or if the others have not pipped within a certain time frame from first pipping do I just say they are goners and collect the ones that are hatched? I’m wanting to ship all that hatch out to one person. How long do I wait from first one pipping before I say hatch is over and still give them time to be shipped? Today is day 29.
I have shipped chickens and goslings before but this is my first peafowl hatch to ship, which have a longer hatch window...
Thnx for your help.

I only was given a certain amount for shipping so need to go in one shipment. Also will be to late in week to ship if I wait. Can’t ship past wed or chicks may get stuck at post office over weekend.

Please those who ship peachicks, please tell me what you do with your hatches that are to ship?

Doubting you have any protein gel laying around... If the person is expecting it a certain day say it will have to be delayed. Also, make sure all of them hatch before shipping it. Take care of them by setting up a mini brooder and have all of them to drink and eat before the shipment. I might not know what I'm saying since I am not really into incubating but that's all I know...

Yes. I have GroGel I was going to ship them with... I will make sure they have that and will keep them fed and watered before they leave... thank you.

I ship goslings and chicks, never have done peachicks myself. I will only ship birds the day they hatch if they are going priority shipping, and I ship with Gro-Gel always, just in case.

Im confused, I myself have never bought or sold chicks via mail.. What do you ship them in? Just a closed up box? That seems awful for them.. In a dark box being tossed around.. What good if this gel stuff..? They cant eat in a dark box anyway..?? I am simply baffled and a bit horrified by the thought of this..
