Help! Pecking Problem!

I usually separate till healed.
You can also put blu-kote on it.
Do you have staggered roosts where the hens on a lower roost can reach his vent?

Thanks,
And yes I have separated him, blukoted his butt . I appreciate your help. I hope he's ok I love to hear him crow in the morning

Buy pine tar in the horse section of TS and a can of bag balm or use Vaseline if you can't find bag balm. Mix a large spoonful of bag balm in a jar or cup and a small spoonful of pine tar into it. The bag balm is antiseptic and will help sooth raw skin. The pine tar smells terrible and chickens will not want to peck it Smear this on the pecked area and they won't peck. Some people try to use only pine tar but it is runny and may be a little irritating by itself. You will make basically a salve and put on as often as needed. The other chickens will not peck at this salve. It not only stinks but the taste is bitter. Will not hurt chickens. Better then plain pin tar
