Hi guys currently early day 20 and one of the chicks has decided to pip at the bottom. I’ve never had this happen before so I’m not sure whether to leave it alone or help? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I’ve attached a picture but it’s not the best because I can’t get a good angle.
Thanks In advance

Hi! :frow
It'll be just fine. I've had several like that and they always hatch ok.

Thanks for the reassurance, I'm going to go to bed now and hope that when I wake up in the morning it has made some progress and more chicks have started the pipping process. :D

Just keep an eye on it (after a good nights sleep). Our little one that pipped at the narrow end managed to unzip but couldn't push itself out of the egg, so just needed a little help.
The chick that pipped on the bottom is out but it’s pushed the other pipped egg around so that the pip is facing the floor/ wall of the incubator will it be ok or will I have to reposition it? Thanks

It should be fine, that probably won't be the only time the hatched baby kicks the eggs around while it learns how the get-away-sticks work. I like to leave things a certain way though, so feel free to give it a little turn.

Thanks 😊 I’ve left it alone for now because I can hear peeping and the egg is shaking so I’m assuming that the chick is ok for now. Do you know how long it takes from pip to zip, this egg has been pipped for around 10 hours.

I would get ready to help though...
One time for me one egg had pipped, even started to zip when the chicks rolled it over.
it peeped and shook the egg, but seemed stuck and couldn't make any more progress - so i had to assist it in the end.

See how you get on :)

I’ve repositioned the egg so that the pip is facing up again. I’m going to move the chick to the brooder once it’s completely dry to prevent it from rolling eggs over. How long shall I wait until I decide to help the chick out, it’s currently day 20 and the humidity in the incubator is around 75-80%
Thanks 😊
