We have 2 chickens now and a nice secure, predator coop and run for them. We plan to get ducks in the future and are wondering how to go about planning their coop and run area. We free range the chickens during the day and hope to do that with the ducks as well since we have about an acre.
Our main question is whether or not the ducks need a pool like area inside their secure run for times when we are on vacation, or if during that time (a week or so) they will be okay in a secure coop/run area that does not include a wading/swimming area.
It also sounds like ducks can make quite a mess of their pools, and eating/drinking areas. Anybody have good tips for that?
Thanks!
