Help please: 2 year old chicken can’t stand/walk

Most vets have no experience with Marek's, either. According to my vet, they will most likely look it up in the Merck veterinary manual. So you might as well, too. Search for "Merch veterinary manual" and whatever symptoms your chicken has.

Here's the Merck veterinary manual for information on Marek's symptoms:

Penn State also has a good explanation of how Marek's disease affects the flock.

For better or for worse, almost all chicken failure to walk is attributed to Marek's. There's no cure and no recommended treatment for Marek's. My vet, who does have experience with chickens (and his own chickens), told me that there's a range of injuries and diseases that can cause Marek's type symptoms. He suggested a separate pen, food and water with vitamins, and no company. The chicken I took to him did eventually recover, but continued to walk with a limp. Doc thinks she may have sprained something jumping down from the roost, because she had no broken bones.

Not all birds will get sick from Marek's, but I think you are right not to put her back with your other hens.

If she doesn't have Marek's, then a quiet "hospital" stay in the house may be all she needs to recover. Chickens have remarkable recuperative powers, and will get well if they can, and if you give them a chance.
