Hello everyone, thank you in advance for your help. I have always hatched black frizzle bantam cochin chicks, and recently got a silver laced bantam cochin to breed to my black frizzle bantam cochin. It is my understanding that silver laced is extended black, and black is dominate, and black base to black will give you all black chicks. However, I just hatched out their chicks and they are anything but black. They apear to be chocolate and blue with wild type markings. I am hoping someone has had this happen before and can show me a picture of what these little guys will look like as they grow. I have included unedited pictures, not good ones, but you can easily see the coloring and markings of this little guy. Every chick from these mating hatched this color.
