HELP PLEASE...Chick born with growth on back of head! Pictures included!

The chick is about 2 weeks old and still alive. His growth filled back up with fluid so I drained it today with a needle. He is still eating and drinking.

This is one comment on that link that is what I was thinking as well. Those are veins on that "blister". This chick's skull didn't close properly and what you are seeing is the sack of fluid that surrounds the brain. He won't survive as an adult chicken. One bump could spell disaster.

This person recommends culling. Sad but it is likely to get an infection in the brain which would not be very pleasant for the little chick.

Unfortunately this morning I woke to find the chick laying on its side not able to stand. My fiancé had to cull the baby this morning. Poor little chick!
