Help please! Chick hatched with legs pointing backwards. Can't stand (Pics Included)

Vitamins and electrolytes will help a ton more than plain water remember. If you have some. The whole hatch could benefit from them as well. Good luck with the correction procedure. I have one hatched today with a slight curved leg. I will address it as well. I'll put the pic on for you. I can't find the photo of the one I did last time. It will be a bit later though.
I mixed up some sav a chick electrolytes for them. A pic would be very helpful since this is my first go around. I appreciate that. Do you think I should wait for him to perk up a bit before I start trying to correct his legs? Or is it something that has to be done immediately?

My duckling has the same issue. He was cockeyed in the egg and his toes are curled into a "fist" and his legs splay backwards. He's healthy otherwise and I'm taking extra care of him and doing a little water therapy without the others and working with him as far as walking on dry land. Trying everything I can to help him. Hope your baby gets better.

I had to Wait for help to come home. It is hard to do alone.
View media item 7893755Tiny rubber band and a straw section. If the straw is too big the chick will grow bow legged. You need a perfect combination of rubber band and plastic straw length. You can tie the rubber band in a knot in the center for length adjustment. NOT TOO TIGHT! When you slip it on with someone holding the chick, it will be like threading a needle.
View media item 7893757It has to be monitored so of it falls off you need to refit it.

We have used this method before with positive results. 3 to 4 days last time with a moulted java chick with a splayed leg.
Good luck!

I am sorry to report that the chick didn't make it through last night. I gave him some electrolytes right before bed and woke up about 4 hours later to find that he had passed. I really appreciate the help from everyone in this thread. I'm sure I will be able to apply the things I learned to another chick in the future since I plan on hatching more. Thanks again guys
