HELP!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!! DOG attack TODAY... PICTURES

Poor little hen! Glad she's doing better, and cheers for Doctor Cleve! We do the same thing, we drive a good bit of extra distance to get to a good vet, even for minor things.
I'm glad you were able to help her, and I hope nothing like this ever happens to any of mine...I keep reading incidents relating to dogs attacking chickens. Our dogs are very good to them, but who knows what another dog would do...
Keep us updated, and good luck with your little girl!

What a wonderful doctor he really is!
If you noticed the pics I posted of my girl, the stitches on yours look much better but that's because she was put to sleep while mine had her " surgery " done @ midnight.
I'm glad yours is doing better and I'm sure you'll keep an eye on her 24/7.

If possible, go to any drug store and get hydrogen peroxide to wash away ALL bacteria from the wound.
Just pour it all over the wound.
It kills bacteria

Hydrogen peroxide kills good skin. My daughter worked for a dermatologist. She said they never use that on wounds for that reason. I would just use sterile water to flush the wound, then give PenG injections to prevent infection.

OK here is a picture of it after surgery, she is doing great today moving around eating and drinking. As far as the Vet bill it was $75 and that included the surgery which took a little over an hour a antibiotic shot, antibiotics to bring home, and a bottle of Vedco Chlor-A-Clens-L. But It real depends on the vet, Dr. Cleve is awesome and he is truly in it for the love of animals. I took my daughters Chihuahua about 6 months ago after her boyfriends lab attacked her and her eyeball was damaged badly, she is now blind in that eye but at least he was able to save the it and he only charged for meds which was like $20. I cant say enough good things about him its why I drive 29miles to use him. We have a vet here in our town but he is a jerk in fact because he is closer when my daughters dog was bitten in the face we called him and he refused to see her, although he claims to be an animal hosp. and his reasoning was because we havent used him in over 2 years.

Any how my baby girl is doing very well and i am just so happy Dr. Cleve is such an awesome person who cares so much about his patents.

You have a wonderful, affordable vet! I bet mine would have cost at least twice that much, if they would have done it at all. What are the tubes sticking out of her for?

My vet has also told me they really don't use peroxide anymore, as it kills good cells as well as germs. So far I've never had to stitch any chickens

DH had to staple one of our dogs once though. He has a med kit for his hunting dog, and our female Lab decided she was going to challenge our female LGD who was close to twice her size... ouch!! The Lab came out second best

Peroxide no good anymore?
Can't go against science. These vets went to school to learn that. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, it's what my daughter told me because I would use it too. She said they absolutely do not use it. Maybe diluted like one of the posters above said would be good.

That's super news about your girl

You're fortunate to have such a dedicated vet to help you, even if you do have to travel to see him. (Pity about the other fellow
