hi everyone.
this is my 1st time trying to hatch chickens.
I have 6 light sussex and 6 buff sussex from the same breeder.
they arrived in the post this afternoon (3pm) so I'm bringing them up to room temp overnight.
can anyone tell me the best time to put the eggs into the incubator?
also can you tell me what the temp in *c and humidity should be from days 1-18 and then 19 onwards? I've read a lot of websites and theyre all different, so confusing. I have an incubator with a fan.
also, should the eggs be turned on day 1? ive read that you should and shouldn't so clarification would be great and does it matter whether theyre in trays so thet theyre more upright? or lie them down flat.
sorry for the loads of questions. just want them to have the best chance of developing.
so excited!!!! =D

Here is a fantastic article article by one of our members that will answer your questions in detail. And give you some wonderful incubating tips as well:

There is a section on shipped eggs specifically. They can be tricky to incubate and hatch successfully. But don't worry, just follow the instructions and advice she gives and you'll be fine. Good luck with your hatch!
