Hi anyone, These pictures are from this morning. I don't know which hen did it, we have a 6 month old Golden Comet and two 4 month old pullets that just came in two days ago. I saw some red gelatinous stuff in the Comet's poop once a few days ago, but not bright red so i thought it was something she ate while free ranging. That was pre-pullets arriving so I'm thinking it's from the Golden Comet. She is not laying eggs yet but probably should be by now given her age. She is acting fine, clean eyes, nose, no coughing or sneezing, eating and drinking as normal. The only odd behavior is she was up and awake at 5AM this morning, laying in the doorway half in half out, way before day break. I thought maybe she was warm and wanted some "fresh" (muggy, humid) air to breathe but that is atypical behavior. She spoke to me as I was replacing water in the dark so fully awake and alert. The red stuff is stringy and a little Jello like in consistency. Sorry about the crummy pics but the humidity kept fogging up the camera lens. What do you think? How do I treat? What could be causing this? Thank you for any guidance.
