That sounds wonderful.. Except for the henna. My hair is mostly gray and I wear them like a trophy. I earned everyone of them!

I think I will go mix some of my favorite thing and have it on some canelope.

1 cup cream cheese = 1 cup marshmellow cream. Blend together until smooth and eat it on any kind of fruit! Yum Yum!!

Thanks everyone. This baby is the second one hatched at the riverhouse.
Here is the first who is 1 1/2 week old with her suragate mama. (I have 10 hens so I'm not sure who the mama's really are.

Thanks for all the help and encouragement!

Well the baby didn't make it. Half out of the shell but I found her gone. I'm so upset and feel like I didn't do something I should have. The other egg is not even pipping but I'll keep my fingers crossed as it I think is a day later.

The momma in the pic is Ruthie, a silver laced standard cochin. I have 8 cochin hens, and 2 jersey giant hens and one white leghorn roo named Henry. He of course is the daddy.

Keep your fingers crossed for the remaining egg and thanks everyone for getting back to me.

the best you can do is leave them be. if they aren't strong enough to get out, they aren't strong enough.

it is normal for some not to make it. you want a strong flock!

So sorry for your loss. Your hen and little one are just beautiful. I will keep my fingers crossed for the next one.
