New Member needs help, please.

Hello,

I am new here and need some serious help, please.

I have 6 silkie hens, but 2 of them are looking like this (see photos). Can someone tell me what this is and how to treat it? This happened in just a matter of a few days. I don't understand what's going on as I have never seen anything like this before. I feel so bad for them!
Are their faces scaly?
the crust all over their heads

From what I can tell from the photo, that's Scaly Face Mites (SFM). Those you saw are different. They may have two different types. Permethrin won't kill SLM/SFM. I would put some vaseline on their faces a couple of times a day, every other day for three days. like M, W, F, or something like that. Then in a week to 10 days, do this whole thing one more time.

I'd still use one of the mite killers for the other types of mites they may have.

Mites take a lot out of a chicken, and especially with silkies, make sure you've got some vitamin supplements in their water every couple of days.
