Help please. Saving a severely broken egg?

I'd dab the membrane with oil - I just use mineral oil, usually - and that should give you a look at what's going on inside, if you're careful. That'll keep the membrane from drying out. I just dealt with my first shrinkwrapped chick today... the membrane in the BOTTOM of the egg dried out and encapsulated the poor thing, but it's out and fine now. I don't know if you'd want to spray it down with 3% hydrogen peroxide, without a shell... but maybe spray a paper towel down with some, and put it in that to try and avoid contamination of the other eggs, since you mentioned it being dirty.[/QUOi hadn't thought about the HP just on a towel, I will definitely try that. Thanks!

He made it through the night. It is pretty shrink wrapped but the oil seemed to help.

After oiling all the exposed membrane I realized just how little shell is left. I can't see any yolk in there (still have a pretty good size blind spot though) but there are lots of blood vessels that will need to dry up.

Made for some really cool pictures though.

Wait. I see a lot of blood vessels still.
Do you see a beak?

Ye

Yes! It is really cool but size of the blood vessels has me worried.
He was very active this morning and with the oil on the membrane it is like having a window into the shell. It is definitely the beak,he opens and closes it a lot.
He is still probably absorbing the yolk.
Is the membrane torn close to the beak so he has air to breath?
