I have some chicks hatching in my bator and when I got home tonight both windows are complety wet and dripping but humidity is only 45%. I've taken out both red plugs and still no change. Should I lift the lid slightly and dry the windows or should I just leave it alone? (My botor is a 1602 with a fan installed).
Thanks and God bless!

I can add water but what I thought was that the humidty was to high because of all the water on the windows?

what kind of bator is this?

can you try an other humidity reader?

It's a 1602 hova-bator. I can add another but I am scared to lift the lid and let all the warm air out.

Humidity usually rises when the first chick hatches. It should be ok. Keep your vent plugs out and don't open the lid. Once the wet chicks dry out the humidity will get better. Keep an eye on it and it should even out.

What day are you on? How long ago did you go on lock-down? Have you ever hatched using this incubator before?

I am on day 20. Lock-down was on Wednesday. Yes I have but have never had the water accumilate on the windows like this.
1 was peeping this morning and 5 or 6 have hatched today. The problem is that the windows are so wet that I can't even see in anymore to read the humidty, temp or to see what is happening inside?

I would wipe them off. I have found that when the bator quits cooling the water forms droplets on the window. When the thermostat in mine went out it did that.

Can you take the windows out one at a time and wipe them? Maybe that would work.
