Hey all! My husband caught our rooster (who’s very aggressive towards people) and put him in a cage for probably 2 maybe 3 hours. Someone was supposed to come pick him up which is why he caged him. Anyways - it’s hot out today (90 degrees) so he was in the shade, in a cage, but with no water. I made him let him out once i got home but then immediately noticed him panting, he can’t walk really well. Which i can’t tell if his foot is injured or something else. He’s not drinking or eating. And occasionally he’s shaking (mainly his back end/leg area). Is this dehydration? Did he basically go into shock? I feel so horrible.
We had planned to humanely kill him if we couldn’t find a new home but i certainly didn’t want him to suffer and die. Is there anything we can do?
Husband said it was pretty uneventful getting him into the cage. Basically cornered him and he had no where else to go but in the cage.
