Help Please!!!!

I keep them separated from the adults at night in a different pen, do u think if I would keep them all together at night that would help or hurt???

I wouldn't at this age, I would wait until they were a bit bigger and stronger. Adult ducks can be rough with ducklings.

I know my male did get pissy with them today when they were outside, but he's a mama's boy & very jealous!!!

Can you make a pen inside your coop temp. So they can all be together but the adults especially the drake can't harm them.

I thought you wanted them all together you just don’t want a drake loose with young ducks.

Yes, I do want them all together. I could put a pair of my females into the separated duck pen with the ducklings @ night to see how that works out??? Here is a pic of the ducklings I took today, they are very close in size to my adults. This is what the babies do when I'm near them!!!

We've never had ducks but from our experiences with chickens they go through what we call the Godzilla phase where they just realize that we(humans) are giants and could be a predator. Even in chicks we handle regularly and talk to it's like one day they're more skittish and generally calm down closer to laying age. Some take until after they begin laying. Sometimes there are two Godzilla phases but most birds calm down and remember you're a friend.

The biggest thing is being calm and gentle and soft spoken around them. That and patient endlessly patient.

Again I'm not sure if it's the same thing with chickens and ducks or not.

I’d try them all together before bedtime just to make sure the ducklings don’t get picked on but yes def get them started with integration. Beautiful ducks!

For ducks it’s not so much Godzilla but the axe murder phase.

The ones I had last year would run up to the fence every time someone stopped at my place hoping for peas or carrots, anything really. Then BAM suddenly we were all out to kill them and they ran to the back of the pen every time.
