Help please

Hi there !
Just wondering I’m going away fir the summer and right now my 8 week old buff Orpingtons are on a grower ration! I’d like to wean them into the Coop with my 4 one year old laying Brahma/Cochin hens!
My hens are on a homemade feed ration , of cracked corn ,soya meal, cracked wheat, sunflower seeds,and free choice grit and oyster shells!plus some layer ration . My chicks will only be 14 weeks when I mix them in . I’ve read I can put everyone on the grower and free choice the oyster shells ! But will the little ones know not to eat the shells as they can’t have too much calcium?

The chicks won't consume the oyster shells. Put everyone on a non medicated starter grower with that separate bowl of oyster shells. Layer isn't necessary, and your birds don't need all that extra fat from the scratch which should be fed a a treat sparingly.

This. Your mix isn't nutritionally complete unless you're giving supplements as well.
