Help please!!!!

Lots of things can contribute to leg problems - vitamin deficiencies, incubating issues, genetics. Sometimes they just develop a little crooked in the egg & since there's not that much space in there, it can cause problems. Fortunately, there are enough people who want to try and help, there are a lot of resources out there.

I have found that when my flock had leg problems, it was a Potassium deficiency. One of my young hens became totally incapacitated, only able to scoot backwards on her rear end, kicking & flailing all the time. I read on a chicken forum sometime back then, that this can be cured by giving the chickens potato, banana & cantalope peelings to increase their Potassium levels. Worked like a charm, she was back on her feet in a couple of days, although she still has an unsteady gait, and does more hopping than running, she does manage to get around ok, all on her own. Cooked oatmeal helps too, although I don't think it has potassium in it, but she seemed to enjoy it.
