I'm a first time hatcher and my first chick hatched sometime today while I was at work. Is it normal that it is having trouble righting itself? It's a feisty one but can't stay of it's back!

if it doesn't right itself in 24 hours it may have a problem like splayed leg or curled toes

ask as many question as you want

Thank you!!! I was told to just leave it in the Incubator for at least 24hrs (no other eggs have hatched yet) do you agree?

yes leave her in there for 24 hours so she can dry off if she starts bumping the eggs around too much after 24 hours then take her out quickly my broody hens get up during lock down so i figure opening the incubator quickly wont hurt

Update. Our little chick is doing much better today! It's still a tad wobbly but compared to yesterday it's great! Its the only one out of 17 that has hatched tho. I feel bad it's alone! Today is day 23, any advise on.how long I should give the other eggs?

try tapping the egg shells and see if there is a tap back or candle to see if they are in the air cell if they are try piping the air cell if there is blood STOP IMMEDIATELY wait and try again tomorrow when you candle see if there is movement

look up step by step guide to assisted hatching in the search bar
