Hi all I had a chick hatch yesterday which has a lump coming.from his bum he is.still in.incubator as.didn't.want.to move him but I don't know what to do there is.blood in there and.also what looked like his yolk sac he is still very much alive but I don't.know.what to do should.it be culled for.his own good.do.I let mother nature.take it's course I'm guessing he can't go.in.with others as have heard if they smell blood.they will kill any information be great

Is the problem with it's bum or navel? If it's protruding from it's navel I'd dab a little antibiotic cream on it (one without painkiller added) and leave it separated, on a clean surface. Paper towels would be great, if you have some handy. If it's protruding from it's bum you may be looking a prolapse and unfortunately there's not much you can do to fix that.

Mine did that too, the yolk hadnt fully absorbed before he had managed to break out. I left him in the incubator for a day and a bit in a seperate cardboard box with paper towels lining it and some food, and I put his beak in water periodically so he didnt get too dehydrated. It shrinks down as long it doesnt get infected. Every so often I get freshly boiled water, wait for it to cool to warm and then use a tissue dipped in it to clean the area. Its now about half a cm red pink mass and still absorbing and he looks loads stronger. As soon as it became solid and pink I put micropore tape over it and he is with my other chicks although I keep an eye on them.
