Help Please!

I am confused as to what the ideal protein content should be for laying hens. Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks in advance!

16 percent is usually the normal percent but I have had custom feed with 18 percent for layers.

I'm not sure the nutritionist started me on a the 18 percent to start and at 30 weeks I'm going down to 16. So maybe it helps them start laying.

Almost all layer is 16% protein, however, Purina has a non-advertised brand that is 15% and Buckeye has an 18% layer. I have also used a 22% protein locally milled layer feed from ADM Alliance/PenPals, but I usually only buy that when I have several that are molting badly, plus it's more expensive. Most of the time, 16% is just fine.

Nutrina has a 20% in pellets my birds like it some but ain't crazy for it like purina.
