My button quail just laid her first egg

....when i was sleeping i got up and saw it, its cold is it dead? Also i don't have an incubator but i don't know if my other quails a boy or girl....Can quails hatch there owen eggs??? Do quail eggs need to be fertilized?? How many eggs do they lay?? All info about about button quail eggs will help!!!!! Thank you!!!

#1 ~ Yes all eggs must be fertile to be able to develop and hatch
#2 ~ Eggs are not laid with an embryo inside of them. If you cracked it open, even if it is fertile, it would look like any other egg. It will not begin to develop a chick (if fertile) unless it is kept at the right temperature (99* for most eggs) for several days. So no, if the egg is fertile, it is not dead because it has not had a chance to develop
#3 ~ Any bird can hatch it's own eggs, if it wants to. Not every bird will automatically go "broody", which is when they decide to sit on a nest of eggs and hatch them out.
#4 ~ She will lay more eggs throughout her life time, you should get one again soon

Thank you so much, one other little question.... I have two quails one laid an egg. But im not sure if the others a girl they are the same age but not both have laid eggs yet...they are both pure white not a hint of color but one has a long like tail feathers than the other one idk if that means anything!?!
