My daughter put ice on hers when she had it a year or two ago. We kept alternating ice packs to keep her comfortable. That and benadryl. Feel better soon.

It's awful isn't it?! I just got over a nasty case and I am terribly sensitive to it as well.
I use a product by a company called Oak-n-Ivy and the product is called technu.
I have used it on my dog as well. If you get it (now available at drug stores and Wally World)
follow the instructions exactly. I had an old timer tell me once that Lava soap removed the oils of
poison ivy so I use it too when I think I may have been exposed. I also use Caladryl lotion.
Good luck and don't scratch!!

You can try organic apple cider vinegar. I know it Really helps take the itch out of all sorts of itchy skin issues with the dogs and it absolutely works on mosquito bites. I promise, you won't smell like a pickle for too long. Apply using a cotton ball soaked with it, or put it in a spray bottle and mist it directly on the skin.

I use Zanfel. I use to have to go to the dr. within 24 hours of first contact! I would get blisters and boils within just a few hours and it would spread massively quick! I used to have to get steroids and antibiotics. Now I use Zanfel at the first sign of poison ivy and it's gone.

I get mine from eBay, but you can buy it from any pharmacy or wal-mart for about $35. A tube of it does 20 applications. Sounds expensive, but if you calculate 20 applications versus 20 doctors visits at a copay of $20 each, that alone is $400, not to mention the 2 scripts you might walk away with each visit at $10 each, there's another $400. So $35 vs. $800............
