help, possible egg bound easter egger

I do not have a heat lamp however the bathroom has a heater n the wall.which i can turn on for her.

They did and both laid again without any troubles.

Good I am so glad o hear that. I am just so upset she has been holding onto this egg for at least since sunday and I think it is sideways

I'm not sure what to do I bathed her and took some lub and put in into her vent with a medicine syringe ( without the neatle (sp?) and she is acting like she is trying to drop the egg but she hasent yet and its been several hours. I'm starting to think she might not. I found on her feet things like corns that fell off,when I rubbed them with a towel, which I think was from the fowl pox my flock is getting over.Could the pain from that have been what caused her to get eggbound? How long does it take for her to drop the egg after bath?

Like I mentioned in post #4, resoak her in warm water as necessary, massage her underside as well.

Tried soaking her again last night, but she did not drop her egg. I had to put her back in the pen this morning due to having to go to work. She is acting normal now just eating and such. I will put it in God's hands while I'm at work and bath her again this evening. I pray that she will make it through this. I read up on calcium could help her drop her egg. I might try that too. Poor poor baby I wish I could do more to help her but I dont want to risk hurting her by collapsing the egg ~Sigh~

Try adding a liberal amount of cayenne pepper into her feed. That should kickstart her to lay an egg.

I had to work on my duck several times a day for many days, but she did have to pass three or four eggs. It was easier in some ways with the duck because I could just fill up the bath tub and close the sliding glass doors. I didn't bathe the chicken, but I did leave her in the bathroom after I filled it with lots of steam. Again, several times a day. Get yourself some latex gloves and very gently see if you can feel the egg in her vent. Use lots of lube.

I tried to see if i can feel the egg in her vent and cannot just tissue but when I feel her tummy I can feel the egg in her belly. She free ranged today ate drank well. I do not want to make her feel traumatized. She is not use to being handled, So I will let her rest tonight and try to do the steaming again tomorrow..she was more active today though since I removed the " corns" if her feet... ."still praying for her"
