HELP! Possible mites?

Just remember that a sick chick needs a dry clean area. Heat, food water and grit ( just incase she ate bedding) keep her separated from the flock incase of disease... I don't treat my girls with antibiotics but others do... What are her full symptoms... A bare belly can happen if she was wet and dirty for a long time, feather pecking..... Or parasites... Good luck!!!

The symptoms stated originally, plus she's a little less explorative/energetic than the other three. I'm not incredibly concerned. Unfortunately, my parents don't want to quarantine her, so I'm just going to take my chances. She's looking a lot better anyways, and there's plenty of egg yolk in the feed.

The dust will take care of any mites or lice! But sounds like someone pulled a clump of poo off her rear and it pulled off the feathers. Could be she is sore so does not run around like the others.

It does look like a chunk or two has been pulled off. She's only been at my house for a little over a day, so I'm not expecting perfect chickies right away. I'm just glad she's not a troublemaker like Ruby and Pearl, haha.

I talked to the farm and they're pretty sure it's just a lack of protein along with some feather plucking from vent cleaning. Amethyst is doing much better now that she's eaten some more egg yolk. I've also lubricated the vent with coconut oil and cleaned her up a bit more, that poo was really stuck on.

I woke up today and she was not doing anything! Just sitting there, no walking, not even holding her head up. I cleaned her vent off again and she seems a bit better but not much! Could the be a result of developing pasty butt again?

are you giving them electrolytes and probiotics???? I did right away with my 2nd bunch of chicks and I dont remember much even pastey butt....

I didn't, but Ruby, Sapphire and Pearl are doing just fine! I don't know why Amethyst is so inactive...

Please help! I'm at school right now but I want to be able to do something when I get back...

You may need to separate her, to protect her and potentially the other two, if she is sick.
She may not thrive, there may be something wrong with her.

However, you need to try.
She will need electrolytes and probiotics (feed stores usually have these), added to her water.
Continue to offer things like the scrambled or hard boiled egg.
A low stress environment (not a lot of handling, etc., except as needed).

I'll try that when I get home. I hope she's well enough to make it until I do.
