I have a two week old buff orp I brought home from work when she? was a few days old. She was unable to stand without help, would constantly fall on her side and wasn't eating or drinking. She also had a growth? 1 1/2 cm below her vent ( almost looked like a newborn baby's umbilicle cord). With help from many topics on this site, (and a few sleepless nights) she now stands (but her balance is still unsteady, she falls frequently from side to side), she is eating and drinking on her own and the thing whatever it was below her vent is healed and there isn't any trace of where it even was. Today I picked her up and shortly after she sneezed, it was clear, but there was alot of it. Also I noticed today that when she pooped it was almost frothy. I don't know how normal that it since I'm a first timer at this. Also she getting feathers in but has not gained any weight compaired to the other chicks she was hatched with (that are twice her size). Help!!

I thit is a bit of info for respiratory infections of chickens
Using Vetrx for each bird infected

put vetrx on the head and under the wings
and 1/2 tsp down the throat a couple times a day for a week
2 tsp per gallon of water
for all of them as if it drank from the same watetrer then I would give it in the water for all of them

from Walmart's in the herb section
you can get Vit E oil
and Vit B complex oil
then put 2 drops per time in her wet mash thee times a day
she will get better nerve cordination from it

***to get the birds going I would do this

*** the wet mash probiotic this evening

wet mash probiotic
1 qt of dry crumbles
1-1/2 qts of milk any kind
1/4 cup of yoguart
mix good and feed 3 tsp per chick so that they eat it in 20-30 minutes

also in the water put 2 tbsp of ACV to a gallon of water
you can order it from smith poultry supply

Of the whole post, the thing that concerns me the most is that this chick has not gotten any bigger. At two weeks old, if it is half the size of it's siblings- it sounds very grim. Sometimes, even when we try very hard- something is not right on the inside. If this chick is not growing, it is not processing the food (or not eating it) properly. It is certainly not wrong to try vitamins- sometimes vitamins can be a miracle when the underlying problem is a deficiency- but in this chicks case- hatched with some sort of balance problem and a hernia or prolapse, and never growing- I think you need to consider culling, as it will probably die soon. I have raised many many chicks, and sometimes there are the ones that do not grow- they do eat/drink, but never grow larger, they do get some feathers, but invariably fade away despite TLC. Sorry.
