So I have some eggs that were laid on 7/13/2024.

To my surprise one of the eggs started hatching a week early, which is weird because all the other ones with babies in them aren’t even trying I can hear them in there but they aren’t trying.

This one had the egg shell broke and it was out. It was hatched fully around 3:00p today. But with it being about a week early idk if its behavior is normal or if its even going to live.

What do you guys think? It can’t seem to balance or walk its like a bowling in it just keeps falling over.

I don't know how your chick is doing now but it is not premature. It is fully feathered. It might have come from an egg that was hatching earlier than the others. If Mum is still sitting put it under her. If it is in the incubator, then keep it there for a couple of days, with feed and water. If the others don't hatch you will need to put it in the brooder and keep it warm and fed. If it is on its own then I found a sheepskin hat acted as a 'nest' and she was perfectly happy to be tucked in there with lots of attention. Wishing you luck!

You definitely had an older egg mixed in there because there is absolutely no way that is a week early. This is what an embryo would look like on day 14 which would be about a week early. As far as behavior that is perfectly normal in the video for a still wet chick that just hatched. It has no muscles it has to learn to walk.

I don’t have anything that are brooding right now, and I don’t want it going out there to die.

One of the other eggs was moving and chirping but it hasn’t started the hatch phase yet.

These eggs were laid on 7/13 and mom got up and left them. So I put them in the incubator after that. I pull eggs everyday so when I noticed her sitting on them I noted it on the calendar.

I’ll let it in the incubator for a day or two the. Move it to something more suitable for it until it’s ready for its permanent spot.

21 days for chickens to hatch after they are being kept warm by Mom or incubator. If you can hear the chicks peeping in the eggs, they will hatch in less than 3 days.

Oh okay. I’ve never had to use an incubator before, my chickens always did the work but for some reason mom just got bored with it and stopped brooding and that left me having to use the incubator.
