@Eggcessive i saw that you commented on a few posts, is this a very bad case? Is my first step bathing her? Then i put oil and in a cage for a few days secluded from the others? Do i need to ry to push it back in? Do i wait till the swelling goes down?

I am currently giving her a warm bath with epsom salt... i have to farm anti biotics or anything besides bag balm. So after soaking her for a bit i apply polysporin and try to push it back in gently. I also have saline in a spray idk if thats usefull?

Put some sugar on it and wait about 15 min. This will help reduce the swelling. Then try to gently push it back in. Keep an eye on her. Isolate if possible to avoid others pecking at it. Repeat process if necessary.

Sorry about your hen. Try to keep the red tissue moist with oil or cream at all times so that it doesn’t dry out. Honey or sugar with a few drops of water can be good to reduce swelling. Keep trying to push it back inside and hold it there for a few minutes. It may come back out, especially when she poops or if she lays an egg. Have the others been pecking at it or pulling it out? Vets can put it back in and put in a stitch to hold it inside, but it may or may not be available to you. Keep her clean after she poops, and keep it lubricated. Besides honey, you can use coconut oil, mineral or olive oil, and some use hydrovortisone cream or hemorroid cream, but just keep it from drying out.

So ive done just this, and later when i checked on her its was waay out again and theres blood.... we also have many people on fhe house so the bird might not be as relaxed because theres lots of noise that i cant control... i will check her when i wake up and see where we are at....

Thank you. It keep pushing back out after a bit ive pushed it back in and held for a few minutes 3 times tonight... hopefully the swelling will do down and it stay inside tonight..
Also note that its been bloody. I dont think others got to peck it
I will give an update when i get up.

Update.... its still out this am.... should i watch her every nlfew minutes and non stop keep pushing it back in? Its bloody... i am going to soak her in epsom salt for a bit then put honey then try to push it in again.... i have saline spray is that something i can use on it before applying honey? @Eggcessive

Some hens will prolapse slightly as they are laying an egg. There is the red tissue exposed momentarily that attracts pecking. She might have had a hard time laying it too. But I wonder if the others may have helped it come out more by pecking. I would soak her at least once a day, and keep the honey or oil on it. Saline is fine to use for keeping it clean. Keep trying to push it back in occasionally, but you don’t have to constantly sit with her. Just make sure it doesn’t dry out. It can takes days for the prolapse to stay in permanently.

Is she pooping okay? You can try to stop her from laying eggs temporarily if you would like to, but she would need to be kept in a dark room or cage for 16 hours a day, allowing her 8 hours of daylight to eat, drink, and walk about. It can take 3 days or so to completely stop laying. Here is a good article with more info:

Ive pushed it in idk how many times! I gave her a 15 minute epsom salt bath then applied sugar and honey waited a few minutes then pushed it in for it to pop back out, push it in and just when i thought i had it she pooped and it came out... i put her back in her cage with it still sticking out...
