Help! Pullets won't go up ramp to the coop!

I agree, it is the slick texture of the ramp that is the problem. I would suggest you mix some grit or sand with some paint and paint the ramp, OR (or possibly AND) put a cinder block at the bottom end of the ramp to give it a less steep angle. Don't worry about it hurting their feet, for one thing they won't be on it long enough to do them any harm and for another, their feet are quite tough. They are on dirt all day anyway, right? Why not glue sandpaper to the ramp? Because it is paper, it will get wet and peel off. Good luck!

I have used some leftover shingles on a ramp.
The birds had no problems going up the ramp.

I used a $1.25 dog eared fence board for my ramp. Its is treated rough cut wood and not slick even when wet. No need to paint it. I put treads on both sides so it is reversible when poop gets on just flip it over. I used a night light for the first four days and then took it out. Its was all they needed.
I use raisins for anything new as they would bust up in the middle of a KFC for a raisin.

:lau haha I will have to try some raisins...but...I was enticing them with chicken scratch..a couple of them got on the ramp to eat the chicken scratch, poo'd and left to go stand by the human door. Because they are used to going in that way, it may take longer.
I waited til it was pitch black last night before we herded them up the ramp, which was no easy task, holding sticks in both hands, me and my daughter. The light was shining bright inside their coop but they stood there not moving in the dark. I thought they would gravitate toward the light, like a moth to a flame, but it didn't work. :gig
