HELP... Quail Emergency... Again

Yes, you could defend make a bachelor pad In a different pen! The only worry for me is that they might still fight. You should try and rehome at least two though.
The problem is it's almost impossible to rehome male quail or chickens where we live they would probably just end being lunch for someone. I was thinking I could make 4 separate pens for them but we may have to cull I really don't want to but I'm pretty that's the only thing beside the bachelor pad.

You can try a separate pen, but if they can hear or see the females they may fight anyway, also some males just don’t get along and will fight no matter what, you should only have 1-2 males if you only have 6 hens, I would watch and see who the most docile are and keep those.

Would the injured one's be the nice one's or does that just mean their week or low on the Peking order?

So I had a quail who's head skin was just gon it was bleeding I thought maybe a mouse cane in and chewed on it so I took care of it and separated... Also, this is a white Coturnix or texas am I don't know the gender I've heard you can't vent sex them very well and I can't seem to either... Anyways now one of my male Italian quail has the same type of injury we moved the quail pen to a safer spot and took the food out last night and they were fine this morning but...when we got back from church I saw it...could the males be fighting over the females....and can the males be together in a pen without females or will they fight as well? Ok, y'all what we're going to do is take a bunny hutch we made which is 2x2x2 separate it so there are 2 levels so it's 1 ft tall on each level( so they don't snap their necks) and divide that down the middle so 1 ft per bird they will be separated and if i want one in with the ladies I'll put them in there. Eventually, i would like to build a large flight pen for them, but until then this will have to do. Thanks for all your advice and help... Any more advice would be appreciated 🙂

That injury certainly looks like quail on quail violence. In my experience it is usually roos fighting, but I have a trio of hens that did that to a new male that I tried to introduce to them.

You can try to do a bachelor pen, but if they're already fighting, the will probably continue to do so. The one that gets injured is either less dominant or weaker than the other. It's hard to say.

Be careful of putting just one hen in with a roo. He will likely overbreed her and might cause injuries in his enthusiasm. 3-5 hens would be better.

Ok will females ever fight other females like this or not, also we have 6 hens and 4 roos so I'm making a pen for each roo to be separate 1sq ft each but they will be able to see each other and I'll put one in with the ladies. And if i decide to put one male in that hasn't been in the pen for a while will the girls hurt him?

They might, but it is much less likely than with roos, and almost always happens to a new bird that wasn't introduced correctly.

You're probably better off getting rid of at least 2 of those roos if not 3. The hens might scalp a roo if they don't recognise him, but it's less likely if they've been able to see him the whole time.
